Some known installation issues are Log Checker does nothing after being installedThis is usually a symptom of the Borland Database engine which Log Checker uses, not being installed correctly. In most cases, an installation has been attempted on the machine by a user with insufficient rights to install software. Back to TopCheck Date SettingsLog Checker should be used with Australian date formats. To ensure your computer is set correctly: Note: These instructions are for Windows XP machines. There may be slight differences for other versions of Windows but the process is the same 1. Reboot your computer fully 2. Login as an administrator 3. click on start -> Control Panel 4. Select Regional and Language settings 5. Select English (Australian) 6. Select Customise 7. select the Date tab 8. set the short date format to d/MM/yyyy 9. click on ok 10. click on apply 11. Reboot your computer Back to TopNot a valid date.First, check the date settings (see Check Date settings). Log Checker is year 2000 compliant and was designed to work with whatever date settings (US or Australian) you use on your computer. To do this it uses a common date validation routine that is part of the windows operating system. Usually this works fine. Unfortunately, a few builds of Windows (particularly early Windows 2000) contain a version of this routine that tries to validate dates against the US format regardless of your windows settings and causes mayhem with Log Checker. Modifications were made in version 2.6 and later of Log Checker to counteract this behavior. If you have a version prior to 2.6 you will need to upgrade. If you change the date settings after Log Checker is installed and before registering, you may have to do a manual uninstall and then reinstall it. But try running it after you have made the date format changes, you could be lucky. Back to Top |
