Operating Systems
Log Checker has been tested on Windows XP and Vista. Log Checker may work on Windows 2003 server but we currently do not actively test / support that platform Log Checker may work under Windows terminal Server but we currently do not actively test / support that platform Log Checker may work on older windows operating systems but we currently do not support them.
Computer Requirements
Most Vista compatible computers purchased with the last 18 months or so will run Log Checker nicely. Systems older than that are likely to encounter performance issues that may make using the program difficult.
Screen size is important. The 7 Day view uses lots of screen real estate. It is recommended that you consider a 21” monitor or dual monitors in order to avoid having to continuously scroll the window to see the details. We recommend that you use a screen size of 1280 * 1024 or larger for ease of use.
Log Checker uses the Borland Paradox database as its repository. There are only a handful of files and they do not take up a lot of space by today’s standards.
Networking
File SharingLog Checker uses the Borland Paradox database whitch is network ready. This is a file based database, so connecting several users to the share the same just requires a common file share. A network server is preferred but you can set it up just between users. Terminal Services / CitrixLog Checker can be installed as an application hosted by Terminal Services / Citrix. But be aware that we do not test against that platform. We are also unable to assist in resolving any problems specific to a terminal server installation. But we are aware of a few clients that use this approach and have reported any issues. Please note that you will need to reboot the server after installation to complete the install. |
